The church of St Donatus stands on the sea coast in the Puntarska cove, at the crossroads of paths leading towards Punat, Vrbnik and Kornić. The church emerged in the 12th century in the Romanesque age, as the central building shaped like a trefoil with a dome. It got its name according to the Zadar bishop and saint Donatus, which shows a strong influence of Zadar on the island in the 12th century. Today, only the reconstructed remains of the church are preserved as it was destroyed in the explosion of the ammunition warehouse, located nearby, in 1945.
